Choi-Yong (최영) honors General Choi Yong of the Koryo Dynasty (14th century), prime minister and commander respected for his unwavering loyalty to the homeland. Its 46 movements celebrate his military and moral virtues. He was betrayed and executed by his subordinate general Yi Sung Gye, founder of the subsequent Yi Dynasty. It is a Tul for 3rd Dan. It introduces the double U descending block (doo gewi najunde makgi), jumping elbow strike, and extended standing balance position. Its rhythm is martial: dense blocks of four consecutive movements followed by pauses that symbolize the general's firmness in court.
