Se-Jong
24 movimientos
The greatest king of Korea and inventor of the Korean alphabet Hangul in 1443. The 24 movements represent the 24 letters of the alphabet. The diagram is the letter Z (초) of Hangul.
Se-Jong (세종) honors King Sejong the Great (15th century), regarded as the wisest monarch in Korean history and inventor of the hangul alphabet in 1443. Its 24 movements represent the 24 original letters of the Korean alphabet (14 consonants and 10 vowels). The pattern diagram forms the character 王 ('king'). Required at 5th and 6th Dan. Despite its brevity, it is technically one of the most refined: it introduces the arc wrist block (palmok dollyo makgi), the sliding cross kick, and the extended final meditation stance. Each movement is executed with absolute presence, reflecting the intellectual depth of the king.
