Choong-Moo (충무) honors Admiral Yi Soon-Sin (1545–1598), inventor of the world's first armored warship, the Kobukseon, and naval hero who saved Korea from the Japanese Imjin invasion. Its 30 movements end with an attack executed with the left hand, symbolizing his tragic death before accomplishing his ideals. It is the Tul of 1st Gup (red belt with black stripe), the final examination before black belt. It introduces the flying side kick (twimyo dollyo chagi), the 360° spinning kick (bandae dollyo chagi), and the upper X-block. It marks mastery of the color: the practitioner is ready for Dan.
