Eui-Am (의암) is the pseudonym of Son Byong Hi (1861-1922), leader of the March 1st, 1919 Independence Movement who peacefully challenged Japanese occupation of Korea. His 45 movements represent his age in 1905 when he renamed the Donghak religious movement to Cheondogyo. It is the first Tul of 2nd Dan. It introduces the inverted knife hand low block (sonkal bakuro makgi), the base of palm strike in ascending hook and the first triple sine wave movement combination. It is executed with emphasis on audible breathing and serpentine fluidity between techniques.
